Abstract
Motorization in Asian countries is growing fast and the motorcycle is the dominating transport mode. the number of registered motorcycles in Thailand is 63%, in Vietnam 95%, and in Indonesia 73%. Malaysia, with a population of almost 33 million, is not an exception. According to The Road Transport Department of Malaysia, the total number of motorcycles is 43% which is 5% more than passenger cars. Now the rising of fuel prices in the world market will lead to the increase of daily necessities especially for private vehicle users. Some may have to change their mode of transportation from car to motorcycle and thus on the other hand contributed to greenhouse gases emissions, leading to climate change. Electric Vehicles turn out to be more than 90% cleaner than the cleanest conventional gasoline-powered vehicle. clean and efficient energy will mean a stronger economy, a cleaner environment, and greater energy independence for Malaysia. This will be a direct solution to reduce the effect of Green House Gases. The government had initiated the Fleet Test Vehicle Programme, to focus on revitalising the green technology infrastructure, and promoting the electric vehicle by strengthening the electric mobility eco-system and charging infrastructure nationwide The idea of standalone solar charging has inspired solutions for power crisis issues while suggesting a clean and sustainable power source for Electric Vehicle. However, solar energy system dependent for high power charging system faces some challenges due to system performance efficiency and power availability. Thus, this book showcases the recent advancement of computational intelligence techniques with the integration of an improved maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller and charging controller which promised better overall system performance.
