Abstract

Stress refers to the responses of one‘s body, be they neurological or physiological changes, as one adjusts to a new situation. Once these happen some obstacles in life, such as a terrible disaster that costs the life of his close relatives or colleagues heading to well-being complexities and financial difficulties, one's body will make some adjustments to fit in the new situation. The effect of the stressor placed upon an individual varies on how the individual views the pressure. If the said individual views the incident in a constructive manner, sees it as a challenge in life and deals with it positively, it disappears in no time. On the contrary, if an individual could not cope well with the challenge, it may create a tremendous emotional disturbance. Hence, the significance of reorienting oneself from the disturbance is to be mindful of stress, stressor and coping mechanism. Our great scholar Saՙīd Nursī has written a great deal in coping with stress, particularly in his Lem`alar (flashes). This paper intends to study Nursī‘s Twenty-fifth Flash, his twenty-five sets of remedies and their relevancy in coping with stress. It also assesses his 25 remedies, stories, Qur‘ānic citation and his religious practices in life. The relevancy and benefits of Nursī‘s worldview to an individual's coping mechanism of stress in daily life is emphasized in this paper.
