Abstract

In this keynote speech, a few themes related to Islamic Finance are revisited. These themes are important as Islamic Finance move forward through different obstacles and new challenges that has been taking place since earlier this year. The content of this keynote speech outlines the role that Islamic Finance has been and will be playing and impacting those aspects. These are also relevant to the themes of this Conference. 1. Islamic Finance and the issue of sustainability of financial system. 2. Islamic Finance and the acceleration of financial technology (fintech). 3. The response of Islamic Finance towards the global pandemic of CoVid-19 and the ability of Islamic Finance to cater responsibly to a larger area of social finance by way of financial instruments.
