Abstract

Malakut dan malkuutaat dalam bahasa Aramaic bermaksud kingdom atau kerajaan. Kerajaan Aram ini berpusat di Syria manakala Damsyik pula dikenali sebagai kota bagi orang Aram. Perkataan Aram ini telah disebut sebanyak 120 kali di dalam Bible. Golongan kristian percaya bahawa perkataan dan bahasanya Aram adalah bahasa yang dikuasai oleh nabi Isa a.s. Ia mempunyai dua maksud tertentu iaitu; the kingdom of heaven ( malkuutaa da- smaaya) dan the kingdom of god (malkuutaa d-alahaa). Adapun di dalam Qur'an di sebut 'the kinggdoms of heaven and earth' (malakuut fi al-samawaati wal ard).
