Abstract
Puasa adalah satu amalan bagi masyarakat beragama. Sebelum Islam, puasa diamalkan oleh masyarakat Kristian dan Yahudi. Seperti firman Allah dalam surah 2 (al-Baqarah): 183 yang bermaksud, "Hai orang yang beriman, diwajibkan atas kamu berpuasa sebagaimana diwajibkan atas orang sebelum kamu agar kamu bertakwa".
