Abstract
This research examines the interreligious exchanges reflected in the teachings and historical contexts of Buddha and the Prophet Muhammad. The study focuses on how these two significant figures engaged with diverse religious communities in their multi-religious environments. Through an analysis of their experiences and teachings, the research explores the principles of mutual respect and understanding that both the Buddha and Prophet Muhammad upheld, offering valuable insights for fostering interfaith engagement. In the context of Buddhist-Muslim interactions, promoting trustful interactions is crucial. By highlighting the lessons from the lives of Buddha and the Prophet Muhammad, this study underscores the potential for collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being of humanity. Furthermore, it advocates for the freedom and rights of religious minorities, promoting a harmonious existence for Buddhists in Muslim-majority regions and Muslims in Buddhist-majority regions. The paper employs a qualitative methodology, utilising library-based textual analysis and examining primary, secondary, and other resources that encompass classical and contemporary scholarly works. Ultimately, this research contributes to the broader discourse on interfaith engagements, demonstrating how the teachings of Buddha and the Prophet Muhammad can serve as a bridge for building trust, respect, and cooperation between Buddhists and Muslims. Through this study, it is hoped to inspire initiatives that promote peace, understanding, and the betterment of society
