Abstract
This research aims to determine the extent to which students use game-based learning, what are the students’ trends in using it, and to know the students’ perspectives on the effectiveness of using game-based learning in learning the Arabic language among students at the International Islamic University Malaysia. To conduct this study, the researchers used two basic methods: the survey method and the analytical method. 59 students majoring in Arabic Language and Literature from the first year to the fourth year participated in answering the questionnaire containing 35 items. The result showed that students are already using game-based learning in the classroom and that the students’ perspective on using game-based learning to learn the Arabic language is fun, motivating, and attractive, and it also helps students enhance their Arabic language skills.
