Abstract
This study aims to explore the purposes of sharia in savings money and its application in the financial jurisprudential opinions of Imam Ibn Nujaym al-Hanafi (926-970 AH). The Ibn Nujaym has an important place And significant contributions in Islamic jurisprudence, including the jurisprudence of wealth. Given the importance of his jurisprudential contributions related to wealth and the scarcity of a specific study on it, as He clearly stated the purposes of the Shariah in saving money in his legal and economic literature. The two researchers aim to discover these applications from his literature. Inductive and analytical approaches were employed to study and analyse the issue from Ibn Nujaym’s jurisprudential and economic sources. This study reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that Islamic legitimacy has taken a keen interest in the savings money from the side of existence and nothingness and talked steps about how to save it, and several law penalties for his maintenance and protection against his attack have been introduced, such as banditry, theft, looting, and something else, and made it the basis of life. Ibn Nujaym has achieved the purpose of saving money in his economic messages and his theoretical descriptions. Its applications are also reflected in the extrapolation of his books, letters, and advisory opinions in the jurisprudence of money.
