Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of the financial structure on the financial performance of Jordanian Islamic banks during the period 2010– 2021. The study used the standard analysis method, and the study sample consisted of three Jordanian Islamic banks, represented by Jordan Islamic Bank, International Islamic Bank, and Safwa Islamic Bank. The study model was estimated using the ordinary least squares (OLS) method. The results of the study found that there is a statistically significant effect of equity to total deposits, the size of the bank, and the age of the bank on the return on assets, and the absence of an effect of total liabilities to total assets, and equity to total assets on the return on assets in Jordanian Islamic banks. The results also showed a statistically significant effect of total liabilities to total assets, and equity to total deposits. Due to the size of the bank on return on equity, the absence of the impact of equity on total assets, and the size of the bank on the return on equity in Jordanian Islamic banks, the study recommended that Islamic banks rely more on self-financing sources that contribute to reducing the formation of their financial structure based on obligations.
