Educational loss in primary schools in the Sultanate of Oman: in
light of the Corona Pandemic (COVID 19).

Abstract
The study aimed to study the educational loss in basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman: in light of the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), in terms of clarifying the roles of school principals, teachers and parents in making up for the loss, in addition to revealing the challenges and proposals that schools faced during the pandemic period. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the qualitative research approach based on the case study method. The tool was to conduct a structured interview that included four open questions for school principals, numbering (15) individuals, and a questionnaire that included five open questions for teachers, numbering (49) male and female teachers, who were intentionally selected from basic education schools in Muscat Governorate. The results revealed that the manifestations of the loss include: students’ weak mastery of basic knowledge and skills in basic subjects, and some of them lose learning skills such as (teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving). The most important procedures followed to address the loss are: enrichment classes - effective teaching strategies - activities and tests - psychological and social support for students. Among the challenges are: weak digital infrastructure for schools, challenges related to parents, Students, and curricula. The most important proposals to address the loss from the perspective of school principals and teachers: developing an annual plan to address the loss, enhancing and supporting the technology infrastructure of schools, designing supportive teaching programs and mechanisms, preparing professional development programs for teachers in the field of technology, and enhancing community partnership. Finally, the study reached a set of recommendation
