Abstract

Globally, refugee children are among the most vulnerable populations, often displaced from their homes due to conflict, persecution, or other crises or they are born in the third countries that their parents are residing (Xavier, Quy-Toan & Andrei, 2021). Indeed, children are the future of not only their families but also their countries, nations, and humanity as a whole. Their well-being and rights are of paramount importance in any society. Children represent the foundation upon which the future of society is built. Ensuring their rights and well-being is not only a moral imperative but also an investment in a brighter future for all. The plight of refugee children has captured the world's attention and sympathy. Governments, NGOs, and individuals worldwide are increasingly recognising the need to address the specific challenges faced by these young refugees. Upholding the general principle of leaving no one behind in sustainable development, with SDG 4 focusing on ensuring that access to formal education is a fundamental right of every human being, it is disheartening that many refugee children are facing significant barriers to obtaining it. This project focuses on understanding the critical needs of formal education for refugee children, emphasizing the importance of addressing these needs to ensure a brighter future for these displaced youth.
