Abstract

Conscience demands that human beings promote justice for all. Hypocrisy happens when they are dictated by bias and stereotypes and follow a form of lifeboat ethics — fairness to in-group as opposed to out-group members. Our sense of humanity beams when we are able to demonstrate an egalitarian attitude to all. Conversely, it gets corrupted when we fail to be just to all. Palestinians have been suffering from prolonged oppression under the Israeli occupation since 1948. They refuse to accept Israel’s colonial apartheid system — this is the ‘crime’ for which the state of Israel oppresses and kills them with abandon and impunity. Many dominant media outlets do not want to tell us this truth.
