Abstract

In Surat Al-Furqan and during the discussion of the attributes of the servants of the Merciful, verse 74, Allah describes the believing servant as free from being a servant of creatures to be the servant of the creator, the most Merciful, who is characterised by the quality of mercy, which the servant mostly in needs of to live happily. Among the sources of happiness, as described in verse, is the righteousness of the spouse and offspring and the realisation of the believer’s leadership role as an example in leading the society, especially the community of the righteous, who represent the highest category for whom Allah is pleased. The Almighty said, “And for those who say, ‘Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us an example for the righteous.’”
