Abstract
purposes are the souls of actions. It is known that there is no body without a soul, and similarly, there is no action without a purpose. The educational process is one of these actions, and if we do not base the purpose of education in our country on sharia in terms of its curriculum, performance, goals and ends...., then we will find ourselves following the purposes and methods of others. The study has tried to shed some light on this subject in light of the purposes ofSharia through reading al-Farouqi’s "Islamization of knowledge”.The problem of the study is the contemporary educational revolution, which was supposed to bear fruit and develop the nations, in the same way it did to other nations. However, in reality, we witness, every day, a decline of a new kind; an economic decline, an academic decline, and a moral decline ... This requires us to reconsider education, as it is the basis of the renaissance of any nation or civilization. Farouqi has analysed our contemporary crisis by referring to the current state of education; and has been confronted with the painful fact that we lack the clear vision; a holistic vision of man, the universe and life; a vision that stems from our faith in the light of the purposes of sharia.The purposes of education and the purposes of the Shari are directly intertwined in two of these five ends: preservation of religion and the preservation of reason. The overlap with the preservation of religion is due to the fact that religion is based on the knowledge of sharia rules, and knowledge of the rules relyon knowledge itself. As for the overlapping of the purposes of the Shari'awith the preservation of reason, it is due to the belief that mind is the focus ofTaklif (delegation); hence Allah has prescribed what can preserve it and urged us to apply it. He called for the independence of the mind to protect it from corrupt influences. Education also plays a major role in establishing thebelief of the prospected generation in the nation unity. And thus the nation must first agree on an educational unity to unite thought.
