Abstract
Communication is one of the crucial aspects of married life in creating a harmonious family environment and promoting social stability. In today’s era, many married couples face challenges arising from poor communication within their relationships. Therefore, spouses must play an important role in maintaining healthy communication to preserve marital harmony and emotional well-being. However, ineffective communication between husband and wife may lead to various negative effects and consequences such as misunderstanding, emotional distance, and even divorce. From an Islamic perspective, marriage is intended to preserve tranquillity (sakinah), love (mawaddah), and mercy (rahmah) within the family. Islam strongly encourages spouses to practice good communication, mutual respect, and compassion in maintaining family harmony. Therefore, this paper will examine the importance of effective communication in marriage in relation to Islamic teachings and Maqasid Shariah, particularly in preserving emotional well-being and strengthening family relationships.
