Abstract

Social media has become a part of our daily live. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter allow us to connect with our friends, family and even people we don’t know. As we know that social media have significant impacts on its users. Nowadays, it helps people a lot in every way they do and makes it easier for people to communicate with each other wherever they are. However, we also cannot deny that social media also have negative impacts on everything in our live especially on a marriage. This is because, people spend a lot of times when start to use it. Couples who spend a lot of times on social media can create feelings of trust in each other. In fact, some people admitted that they have posted something on the social media that they have hidden from their partner. As a result, it can damage a breeding ground for adultery. Many divorce lawyers say social media is a major contributor to the destruction of marriages. This issue not only was not only affects the spouse but also affects the children and the overall harmony of the family. Frequents arguments between parents can cause emotional stress and can affect children’s mental development. If this issue is not addressed, it will become worse and eventually lead to divorce. Therefore, this is very important to understand the effects of jealousy and misuse of social media to help families build trust, improve communication and maintain healthy relationships.
