Abstract
Squatting during defecation may be healthier than sitting because it straightens the rectoanal angle, allowing easier and more complete bowel emptying. This reduces straining, which is linked to conditions like hemorrhoids, constipation, and diverticular disease. Squatting mimics the body’s natural position, promoting more efficient and less stressful bowel movements.
