Abstract
The law governing takeovers and mergers in Malaysia has experienced extensive changes over the years.the legal provisions are primarily governed by the CMSA 2007 and the Take-overs Code. Malaysia has largely adopted the UK model for regulating company takeovers and mergers activities, while also drawing influences from Australian law. Despite the similarities, Malaysian law has been modified to meet local needs and market conditions. This chapter provides an eagle view on the landscape of regulation of takeovers and mergers in Malaysia, the historical background and the application of the laws.
