Zhang Hengchao obtained his Bachelor and Economics (Hons) degree from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2010. He received the Best Student in Finance (Academic) and Rector List Award during his convocation. Upon completion of his bachelor degree, he immediately pursued his Master in Economics at IIUM, and then furthered his studies for Ph.D in Islamic Banking and Finance at IIiBF, IIUM under the financial sponsorship from IRTI, Islamic Development Bank. He completed his PhD in 2020, and then he was appointed as Assistant Professor at Department of Economics in June 2021. Dr Ali Zhang is presently the Research Coordinator for the Department of Economics.
