Dr. Muhammad Zaki Ramli

Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zaki Ramli (Dr. Zaki) is an accomplished academic and researcher affiliated with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), specifically within the Kulliyyah of Dentistry. His academic journey and professional contributions span various fields, including biomedical science and medical education. Muhammad Zaki Ramli was born and raised in Banting, Selangor, Malaysia, and completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science at IIUM in 2009. He pursued further education at the same institution, earning a Master's degree in Medical Sciences from 2015 to 2017, during which he focused on gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) for his thesis. He later entered a Ph.D. program in Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and graduated in 2024 with his Ph.D. thesis entitled "Salivary Microbiome Shifts in Caries-Free and Caries-Affected Preschool Children after Educational Video Intervention and Taxonomic Profiling of Potential Biomarkers and Their Functional Profiles." Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at IIUM's Kuantan Campus, Dr. Zaki is deeply involved in teaching within the Kulliyyah of Dentistry. His role primarily encompasses the instruction of undergraduate students during their initial two years of dental education.
