Nazira is a Deputy Dean (DG14) for the Office of Student Development and Community Engagement (SDCE) at CFS, IIUM. An alumna of Adelaide University, Australia, she holds a B.Sc. with majors in Pharmacology & Physiology. She later attained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Biomedical with Distinction (CGPA: 4.0) from the University of Malaya.
Her diverse professional experiences span broadcasting, editorial work, and education. Nazira has been associated with RTM, TV3, and PETROSAINS Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of PETRONAS) before joining the Centre for Foundation Studies at the International Islamic University Malaysia (CFSIIUM) in December 2005. Since 2006, she has imparted knowledge to students through various levels of Biology courses, including Biology I, II, III, Practical Biology, and General Biology (for engineering students).
In January 2018, she was appointed as the Head of the Biology Department, having previously served as the Course Coordinator (CC) for the department from 2010. Nazira also held the position of Head of Moderator (HoM) for the Biology department and is a Biology question vetter/moderator and question setter for the 'Peperiksaan Semester Program Matrikulasi' (PSPM) under the Ministry of Education (MOE/KPM) since 2008.
Throughout her tenure at CFSIIUM, Nazira has garnered several prestigious awards: Best Teacher Award (CFS Level) in 2010, Exemplary Teacher Award (CFS Level) in 2011, Best Teacher Award (Sciences, University Level) in 2012, and the Murabbi Award (Female) at CFS level in 2023.
Her remarkable contributions and excellence in service have earned her merit-based promotions: DG44 in July 2010, DG48 in September 2014, DG52 in January 2018, and DG54 in June 2022.
As the lead author for Biology subject, Nazira has contributed to the publication of three volumes of books titled "Natural Science from the Worldview of Qur'an (NSWVQ): An Introduction," published in April 2018 by the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books (ITBM).

In addition, she has served as the advisor and organizer for the 'Staff Mobility Programme' (under MSD, IIUM) and the 'Educational Visit to Perth, Western Australia' (Biology Dept, CFS, IIUM) from 23-27 June 2018.
Nazira has been a beacon of inspiration, fervently championing the active participation of administrative staff in research and publication endeavors. Her visionary leadership has ignited a passion for scholarly excellence, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and academic rigor among her team.
In 2024, the Office of Student Development and Community Engagement (SDCE) showcased its dedication to research and academic excellence by actively participating in three prestigious competitions focusing on innovation and scholarly contributions:
A. 4th Pre-University Matriculation Innovation Competition (PIITRAM 2024)
Hosted by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), this event took place on the 20th, 23rd, and 24th of February 2024, providing a platform to present groundbreaking ideas and innovative projects.
Results: 1 Gold and 2 silver
B. The International Conference on Future and Sustainable Education (ICFSE) 2024
Under the compelling theme "Empowering Tomorrow: Fostering the Future Beyond Boundaries," this conference, held from the 16th to 17th of July 2024, served as a hub for intellectual exchange and discussions on shaping a sustainable future.
Results: 2 Gold and 1 silver
C. Creations de UiTM 2024: Navigating Innovation and Seizing Global Fortune
Conducted at UiTM Cawangan Selangor, Kampus Dengkil, from the 1st of January to the 27th of April 2024, this event celebrated innovation while aspiring to capture opportunities on a global scale.
