Dr Poey Tiang Peow

Dr. Poey Tiang Peow is currently a lecturer in Mandarin at the Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development, International Islamic University Malaysia. As a Chinese Language expert and scholar, he has been teaching the language for than 30 years. Pertaining to his academic background, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Chinese Studies from Faculty of Social Science and Arts, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He got his Master of Education in Educational Planning Administration from Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, and Master of Advanced Business Practice from Faculty of Business and Administration, University of South Australia, Adelaide. He has also attained his Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Chinese Studies and Malay Studies from Faculty of Social Science and Arts, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has published five books entitled The Standards for Being a Good Student and Child, namely Dizigui from the perspective of Chinese Culture; The Important of Inter-Religious Dialogue to Promote World Peace; Elementary Chinese Level 1; Elementary Chinese Level 2; Inter-faith Dialogue for Peace from a Buddhist’s Perspective; and a number of research papers in Chinese Languages, Chinese Studies and Chinese Religions. His mission in life is to be a continuous learner and impart knowledge to others as well as to share information. More than three decades of teaching, training and counselling experiences made him more perfect in the concerned area. He has also developed a Chinese language learning program for the non-Chinese speaking community.
