Abstract
This chapter includes the diagnostic process and formulating a diagnosis. It is how to apply and construct a diagnosis of common acute and chronic illnesses by using a safe diagnostic approach. Doctors will be familiar with the biological, psychological, and social problems of an individual patient. This chapter will explain the concept of the diagnostic approach in primary care. Students will be thoughts regarding the diagnostic process framework concept and refining the diagnoses in order to evaluate, appraise and support the diagnoses made. This chapter includes Murtagh’s diagnostic strategy and problem list approach in constructing the diagnosis and plan patient management. We assume the students have prior knowledge of good history taking, physical examination, and relevant investigations. The estimated total number of words is 4,000 and 10 printed pages included one table and one diagram.
