Abstract

This study aims to develop an Islamic Social Entrepreneurship framework by incorporating relevant aspects of the similarities and differences between the conventional social entrepreneurship that appear to be consistent with Islamic perspectives. This chapter will elaborate on how Islam promotes aspects of social entrepreneurship. A review of articles and conference papers in the field of Islamic social entrepreneurship is used to indicate the current perspectives and practices of Muslim in this area. This chapter is expected to propose an Islamic social entrepreneurship model by Islamizing the current values in the mainstream practices according to Islamic teachings. This paper concludes with an agenda for further research on feasibility of the Islamic social entrepreneurship framework to generate solutions for Muslims to face social challenges.
