Abstract

The paper aim at reviewing the modelling of piezoelectric laminated structures for stress distribution, vibration and noise control, shape control, health monitoring and energy harvesting. Accurate modelling of piezoelectric laminates using linear and nonlinear modelling techniques at high and low electric field is of great importance. The review is done in the field application of (1) different deformation theories (2) geometric nonlinear theories (3) material nonlinear models for analysis of piezoelectric laminates. Emphasis of literature review is given on use of higher order nonlinear model for analysis of piezoelectric laminates and its effect on composite structure.
