Abstract

Educational software and educational games have contributed a great deal in the teaching learning process. The importance and role of educational software in engineering education is well brought out by many available software for different courses. With such software, students can repeat and research with a variety of problems in a short time and gain confidence in the subject. During the COVID 19 pandemic period, almost all over the globe the teaching learning process was switched over to Remote Teaching and Learning (RTL) with students having online classes and online exams. As the classes were conducted online and as it is entirely a new experience, the students had great difficulty in learning and consulting the lecturers and friends during difficult times of learning. The challenges during the pandemic time is not just for the students but it is a great challenge for the lecturers as well in preparing and delivering online lecture classes and assessments. Lecturers must adopt different innovative ways to curb any form of plagiarism. Thus, in the present article the role of educational software on the effective teaching and learning process during the RTL period is discussed in detail. A short survey and feedback taken from the students shows the importance of such educational software during a pandemic period.
