Abstract
Researchers had estimated that by 2050, approximately 50% of the world's population would become myopic and another 10% would end up with high myopia. This is distressing as high myopia increases the risk of serious ocular pathologies such as retinal detachment, cataract, glaucoma and myopic macular degeneration. Alarmingly, although the number is small, there are still eyecare practitioners that consider under-correction of spectacles as a method to control the progression of myopia. As such, the purpose of this talk is to re-visit the viable options available for effective myopia control.
