Abstract
This research aims to reveal the purposes of the political discourse within the holy Quran, through tracking the verses that deal with this aspect. and talking about this issue has less research. So, the researchers attempt to use the inductive approach to examine the verses as well as the scientific materials related to it, then use the analytical method to analyze these verses, then presenting it in comparison with books of Tafsirs and scholarly literature, therefore looking into scholars' views and opinions. It turns out that the purposes of political discourse in the Qur'an are based on three aspects, firstly: Purposes related to religious sovereignty such as sharia arbitration and establishing the principles of loyalty. Secondly: Purposes related to disciplining the character of the ruler such as promoting the values of justice and quality, application of the Shura'a rulings. Thirdly: Purposes related to reshaping the societal identity in terms of rooting the concepts of unity and cohesion thereof rationalization of the principle of obedience.
