Abstract

This map shows royal elements of traditional urban configuration of palace and fort, river, masjid, padang and market in Kota Lama Kanan, Kuala Kangsar. The padang is located in front of Perak River and another one in front of fthe mosque. Near to the padang is the market. The palace surrounded with buluh runcing (palisade) was located around the palace. Near to it also the aristocrat's houses, craftman and artisans. A low-density settlement was found along the river.
