Abstract

Terdapat cabaran dalam menguasai bahasa Arab bagi pelajar di institusi pengajian sama ada rendah, menengah mahupun tinggi di seluruh negara. Fenomena lemah dan rendahnya kemampuan pelajar di sekolah dan universiti menjadi satu masalah yang perlu mendapat jawapan dan jalan keluar. Ia adalah punca utama kemerosotan prestasi dan kecemerlangan pelajar dalam matapelajaran dan kursus yang menggunakan Bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa utama pembelajaran dan pengajaran (PnP). Kejayaan agenda integrasi ilmu naqli dan aqli yang mula populer di kalangan institusi pengajian bergantung kepada tahap kemahiran bahasa Arab. Isu kemahiran bahasa Arab ini jika tidak diberi perhatian akan menjadi halangan dalam menjayakan proses agenda ini. Artikel ini akan membincangkan cadangan kaedah yang boleh digunapakai untuk membantu eningkatkan kecemerlangan pelajar sama ada yang mengambil kursus pengajian Islam mahupun kursus-kursus yang lain. Di antara kaedah yang digunapakai dalam cadangan meningkatkan kemahiran bahasa Arab pelajar adalah pendekatan berdasarkan latarbelakang kemahiran bahasa pelajar, pembelajaran berpusatkan pelajar (student-centered learning), kadar kandungan kursus dan juga persekitaran yang baik. Jika cadangan-cadangan ini dilaksanakan dengan baik, ia akan memberi kesan positif dan hasil yang memberangsangkan ke atas peningkatan tahap kemahiran pelajar dalam berkomunikasi menggunakan Bahasa Arab dan presatasi akademik mereka. Cadangan ini perlu dilaksanakan di peringkat yang lebih luas khasnya institusi-institusi pengajian yang berasaskan Islam agar usaha kejayaan dalam pendidikan berasaskan integrasi Naqli dan Aqli dapat dicapai. *********************************************************** There is a challenge in mastering Arabic language for students in learning institutions whether it is primary, secondary or higher levels throughout the country. The phenomenon of weakness and the low ability of students in schools and universities becomes a problem that needs to get answers and solutions. It is considered as a major cause of students’ deterioration and their academic performance in subjects and courses that use Arabic as the main language of learning and teaching process. The success of Naqli dan Aqli knowledge integration which is well known and implemented in various learning institutions depends on the level of Arabic language skills. This issue if not addressed properly would be an obstacle to the agenda of Naqli and Aqli knowledge integration at these institutions. This article will address issues of Arabic language skills among students and discuss the proposed methods that can be used to help improve students' academic excellence either those taking courses in Islamic subjects or other courses. Among the methods adopted in the proposal of improving students’ skills in Arabic language is the approach based on the background of student language skills, student-centered learning, the content of courses and a good environment. If these proposals are implemented well, it would have a positive impact and encouraging results on improving the skills level of students in Arabic conversation and their academic performance. This proposal should also be implemented at a wider level especially in the Islamic subjects-based institutions in order to achieve success in education system which is based on Integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge.
