تهدف الورقة إلى وصف ظاهرة "انتشار اللغة العرية في ماليزيا"، وتحليلها وتقويمها. وكان الحديث منصبا على دراسة "ظاهرة اللغة العربية في ماليزيا تعليما وبحثا في الفترة 1983-2013. وكانت الدراسة جزءا من المشروع الكبير عن تطلعات نحو تأريخ تعليم اللغة العربية في ماليزيا
