Abstract

This article attempts to explore the concept of takhayyur as applied in Islamic banking system. In doing so, it will exarmine the meaning and the root of this practice and how it is applied in Islamic banking system. It tries to establish the legality of this concept, notwithstanding whether it involves talfiq or not. It has been shown that the practice of takhayyur has accelerated Islamic banking system to prosper and flourish. To conclude, several suggestions have been offered in order to improve the application of this concept in Islamic banking and finance.
