Abstract

Climate change is defined as long-term shifts in global and regional climate patterns resulting from both natural factors and human activities, such as greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion, deforestation, and industrial expansion. These changes affect temperatures, precipitation, and weather patterns, leading to extreme events like droughts, floods, and intense storms (IPCC, 2021; NASA, 2023). Addressing climate change requires collective global efforts, including sustainable energy systems, land management practices, and international cooperation (UN Environment Programme, 2022). Maqasid al-Shariah provides a comprehensive ethical framework for climate action by emphasizing the preservation of life, wealth, and progeny, which align with Islamic principles of stewardship and sustainability. This framework emphasizes the interconnectedness of human actions and environmental outcomes, promoting responsible resource use (Al-Raysuni, 2015; Beik, 2021).
