Abstract
This textbook introduces Hangeul (한글), the unique Korean alphabet created by King Sejong the Great in 1443. The alphabet consists of 21 vowels and 19 consonants, forming a total of 40 characters. Designed for learners of all levels, this book provides clear explanations of Hangeul’s structure and usage, along with step-by-step lessons on vowel, consonant, final consonant (받침), double final consonant, and liaison/connection rules. Each chapter is supported with reading, writing and listening exercises to make the learning process engaging and practical. By the end of this book, you’ll be able to read and write in Hangeul.
