Abstract

This study develops a conceptual model to understand the demand drivers for greenhouses in Malaysia. The model examines economic motivations, environmental awareness, sociopsychological factors, and Al- Mizan values as key determinants influencing the willingness to purchase greenhouses. Economic motivations are analysed through purchasing power and perceived private benefits. Environmental awareness, rooted in Islamic environmental stewardship, highlights the moral obligation to protect natural resources. Socio-psychological factors, including the sense of honor and trend perception, are explored to understand their impact on consumer behavior. Al Mizan value is proposed as a moderating variable, significantly influencing green purchase intentions. The study suggests that integrating Al- Mizan endorsements, financial incentives, and public education campaigns can effectively promote green housing adoption. The findings provide a comprehensive framework for understanding green consumer behavior in Malaysia and offer policy implications for promoting sustainable housing practices while promoting Islamic values and outlook related to environment in order to combat climate change and other threats to the planet.
