Abstract

This study describes and assesses thematically the actuality and application of the idea ‘Education’ in Mawdudi’s discourses with reference to one of his best works, namely “Mawdudi on Education.” The goal of this paper is to study the necessity of education as well as its relationship with the Islamization of Knowledge, concerning the great impact of the secular education system in society, in order to create a new dimension of understanding and responses to this issue as found in the discourse of Mawdudi. Furthermore, this work presents a critical critique of Mawdūdī on the Islamic education system. Finally, this study also gives some suggestions to contemporary Muslim thinking as well to promote the Islamization of knowledge among Muslim communities in a rapid and efficient method.
