Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to investigate students' performance enrolled in the Introduction to Statistics (SMS2309) course in the Computational and Theoretical Sciences (CTS). There is still an ongoing issue with statistical reasoning becoming increasingly essential. The goal of this research is to determine the factors that contribute to the performance of CTS students in subject SMS 2309 in terms of their Continuous Assessment Marks (CAM). R software is used in the study along with survey distribution and Multiple Linear Regression. According to the results, there is a substantial association; the F-statistic is below 0.05, at 0.0048. This emphasizes how important the components that have been found are in students’ performance. For future research, it is recommended to add more variables, increase the sample size, allocate sufficient time, and explore data from different institutions. In conclusion, these suggestions guide future researchers in enhancing this study, contributing to a holistic understanding of factors influencing students' performance in statistics education.
