Abstract
This chapter describes the prevalence of e-cigarette (e-cig) usage globally and in various nations, age groups, sociodemographic traits linked to e-cig use, and variables that encourage e-cig use. The use of e-cigs is on the rise everywhere, particularly among young individuals. What is most concerning is that e-cigs are starting to have a “gateway effect” on those who are cigarette-naïve and eventually switch to conventional cigarettes after using them. It has been determined that a variety of variables, such as tastes, price, accessibility, laws, and others, encourage the use of e-cigs. To develop methods to reduce this serious public health concern, it is essential to comprehend the present prevalence, features, and factors that affect e-cig usage.
