Abstract

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell lymphoma characterised by the overexpression of cyclin D1 due to a chromosomal translocation of t (11;14) (q13;q32) in most cases. This abnormal cyclin D1 expression is a key factor in diagnosing MCL. Morphologically, MCL typically manifests as a proliferation of small- to medium-sized cells with irregular nuclear contours. In aggressive variants, such as those comprising lymphoblast-like (blastoid) or pleomorphic cells, the disease course may be more rapid and challenging to manage. Notably, a rare cyclin D1-negative variant of MCL has been identified, characterised by translocations involving CCND2/cyclin D2. We present a case of MCL with negative CCND1/IGH rearrangement, contributing to the broader understanding of the disease's varied manifestations.
