Abstract
One of the most significant consequences of spiritual wounds is the feeling of disconnection from God or divine rejection. Warriors may grapple with guilt over their wartime actions, questioning whether these align with divine will and if they can be forgiven. These unresolved doubts can lead to a profound crisis of faith, with warriors fearing divine punishment in this world or the hereafter. The horrors of the battlefield— death, suffering, and carnage—can further erode their worldview, shaking foundational beliefs about God’s justice, wisdom, and omnipotence. Such experiences cause spiritual pain that cannot be alleviated by conventional medical treatments, highlighting the urgent need for spiritual rehabilitation.
