Having personally served in one of Rafah's partially functional hospitals, the article details the challenges faced by the healthcare system, including an alarming lack of systematic patient management, scarce resources, and a dire shortage of experienced personnel. It analyzes certain practices followed in these hospitals that are in need of improvement. The author highlights the importance of the presence of Emergency Physicians in these situations and the necessity for a more sustainable, educational approach to healthcare assistance. The author concludes by advocating for an international commitment towards building a more robust and resilient healthcare community in crisis-stricken regions like Rafah.
