Abstract

Urban issues are the focal discussion in this book. It concerns the city and metropolitan life among the urbanites or “the people who live in the city”. This book is a compilation of edited chapters on the urbanites and their engagement with community and locality. These chapters are rooted in working collaboratively with groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, particular interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting their well-being. In particular, this book contextualizes SDG-3 to ensure healthy lives, promote well-being for all ages, and incorporate SDG-11 to make cities (urban centres) and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. This book expects to provide some contemporary issues related to the challenges of urban life setting, particularly on sustainable community engagements affecting the urbanites.
