Abstract
The effectiveness of zakat distribution and collecting mechanisms is a significant area of Islamic jurisprudence that is examined in this study. Important topics covered in the paper include determining the zakat payer, the variety of zakat revenue streams, fair distribution practices, and the difficulties involved in modern zakat administration. It uses a methodology to evaluate whether the goals of Islamic law are more broadly served by present zakat collecting and distribution practices by combining theoretical examination of scriptural texts with jurisprudential judgments and practical case studies. This evaluation ensures that the zakat system aligns with the broader objectives of Islamic law, including justice, equity, and social welfare. The main conclusions highlight the necessity of updating zakat-related regulations to take advantage of contemporary technical developments in zakat fund management, improve the institutional capacity of zakat practitioners, and stay up to date with current economic trends. The study recommends creating specialized agencies to manage zakat collecting and distribution effectively.
