Abstract

This book, Islamic Banking and Finance: An Abridged Overview of Its Ideals, Contracts, Elements and Modes, uses methods of analytical and systematic review, and addresses concisely the basic notions and founding principles of the Islamic financial and banking products. It elucidates religious commands and guidelines of earning wealth decently (al-kasb al-halal) through and within the Islamic teachings, and then exposes the concepts and sources of the Islamic commercial law (fiqh al-mu’amalat al-maliyyah wa masadiruhu). The book also explains the requirements (shurut), elements (arkan) and types (anwa’) of valid sale contracts (‘uqud al-bay’ al-sahihah), as well as the modes and the models of Islamic banking and financing.
