Abstract

Visa-free travel will foster greater mutual understanding, respect, and trust between countries. China and Thailand have decided on a permanent mutual visa exemption starting from March 1 this year. It is a very significant development for both countries and the Southeast Asia region as a whole. The policy will facilitate the free movement of goods, capital and people. Policymakers, companies and ordinary people have applauded this decision, as it opens up enormous opportunities for all.
