Abstract
In an era characterized by unparalleled complexity and uncertainty, the pursuit of a future that aligns with collective aspirations necessitates the adoption of innovative methodologies. This research delves into the domain of foresight, unveiling the potent and transformative capabilities inherent in scenario construction as a strategic instrument for crafting desirable tomorrows. Situated within the context of Iraq, this study intricately examines a series of workshops organized by the esteemed Al-Zahawi Centre for Intellectual Studies in collaboration with the forward-looking Ahas Centre for Foresight Studies. Spanning from the
27th of July to the 9th of August in 2023, these workshops not only facilitated insightful
discourse but also served as a foundation for the comprehensive case study at hand. The study
illuminates the intricate process of scenario development and its pivotal role in navigating the
ever-evolving landscape of uncertainty.
