Abstract

Apart from the specific performance, the Specific Relief Act 1950 provides various types of other equitable remedies such as rectification of instruments, rescission of contracts, cancellation of instruments, declaratory decrees, appointment of receivers, and enforcement of public duties. This chapter generally discusses all those equitable remedies available under the Specific Relief Act 1950 together with the ‘doctrine of election’ used in the jurisprudence of equity.
