Abstract

Islamic social entrepreneurship is one of the branches of mu‘amalat activities which become a 'fardhu kifayah' for a community. According to Imam al-Syatibi (t.t) fard kifayah is in the form of an instruction from Allah s.w.t and getting a reward if doing it and leaving it is a sin, but it is sufficient if done by a sufficient number in a community. Thus, the objective of this article is to review the concept of brotherhood and ‗silaturahim‘ practiced in Islamic social entrepreneurship, which in turn leads to the unification of the ummah. Islamic social entrepreneurship activities that are carried out can further strengthen the relationship of ‗silaturahim‘ and brotherhood between Muslims in addition to strengthening the unity of ummah and their economy. This is important because a closer brotherhood will not be formed if both sides do not practice good and commendable values.
