Abstract

Kuwait's experience in zakat is considered a pioneering experience at the level of Islamic countries, and the Zakat House in Kuwait represents the official body authorized to collect zakat funds and spend them in legal aspects. The problem of the research lies in identifying the role of the Kuwaiti Zakat House in improving the economic and social indicators in the Kuwaiti society. The research aims to study the statistical indicators and financial reports of the Kuwaiti Zakat House that express the resources and banks of Zakat funds, and the role of these indicators and reports in organizing the distribution of Zakat funds, as well as their role in achieving transparency and confidence in the Kuwaiti Zakat House. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method in interpreting and criticizing the phenomena, indicators and financial reports, and eliciting the results reached by the researcher. The study found the most important results: that the organization of zakat collection in the Kuwaiti Zakat House led to an increase in economic and social development in Kuwait and abroad, and that the Kuwaiti Zakat House achieved the Islamic social solidarity element by supporting projects outside and inside the state. The study recommended researchers to pay attention to holding scientific research seminars that address problems and innovate new structures and methods to develop the work of the Kuwaiti Zakat House, as well as the need to work to support special projects that adopt the removal of families from the list of those eligible for Zakat to productive families that provide a sufficient limit for living life.
