Abstract

Cervical lateral mass screw fixation is indicated for the treatment of cervical subaxial C3-C7 pathology associated with instability. There are few surgical methods described in the literature such as Magerl, Roy-Camille, Anderson and An techniques. Good and adequate exposure of the lateral mass anatomy with identification of the safe quadrant will result in successful surgery with minimal complications to the neurovascular structures.
